Okay, the bug has been fixed and I have built the new binaries for you. Please perform a Hornet update via the menu once, then it should work again. The binary for arm (rpi4) will also be available in a few minutes.

It turned out that there is an error with the generation of an identity in the versions rc.3 and rc.4. I have already informed the Hornet team and as soon as an update is available I will update the builds for Hornet, after that you can do a manual Hornet update and then the node should work.

Ich kann den Fehler bestätigen, dies scheint aber ein Hornet Problem zu sein, welches seit RC.3 existiert und mit RC.4 weiterhin besteht. Ich habe das Hornet-Team dahingehend informiert.

Ich werde es morgen so ändern, dass man mit 2.7.15 auch ein downgrade auf rc.2 machen kann.

Aus irgendeinem Grund fehlt die Identity Datei. Geh mal in die Hornet Konfiguration und generiere eine neue ID. Ich denke danach sollte wieder alles gehen.

Also bei mir wird es noch so angezeigt, sicher das, dass Dashboard als eigener Endpoint wirklich aktiv?

Nein, das ist eine mögliche Option das man das Dashboard entsprechend ausgliedern kann und somit unabhänging von der eigentlichen Hornet Url ist. Sprich du möchtest z.B. sowas wie dash.meineurl.de:443 für das Dashboard machen und das Dashboard selbst nicht mehr über die Hornet URL erreichbar haben z.B. meineurl.de:443.

Daher habe ich das verschoben um halt die Leute weniger zu verwirren, da die meisten dort wohl auch entsprechend Einstellungen für das INX-Dashboard getätigt haben.

Yes, if you want to use the dashboard, the INX dashboard must be installed. Only whether you want to have everything under one url/port or split it into two different ones is possible with the settings. Most users will want to do everything via the actual Hornet URL, so I have now moved the menu accordingly to create less confusion there.

Okay, first please go to the proxy settings and select 2) Proxy Configuration. Then go to 5) Advanced Settings and there you select 2) INX-Dashboard [SHIMMER] Proxy Settings and then please make sure that 1) Enable INX-Dashboard is set for you.

Then go back and select 3) Hornet [SHIMMER] Proxy Settings. Please make sure that your domain is stored with the corresponding port, e.g. example.com:443. Finally, unless you are automatically prompted by the installer, go back and select 4) Proxy Installer from the main proxy menu and then 1) Install/Deploy The Proxy.

Once the process is successful, you can access your Dashboard & API normally using the address set in 3) Hornet [SHIMMER] Proxy Settings.

The options available in 2) INX-Dashboard [SHIMMER] Proxy Settings are only useful if you want to separate the API and the Dashboard, e.g. have the Dashboard running explicitly on a different domain or port.

Falls du die Einstellung für das INX-Dashboard suchst, die befinden sich nun beim Proxy unter den "Advanced Settings", da dies für neue Nutzer weniger verwirrend ist.

As I wrote before, the easiest way would be to disable the INX dashboard in the proxy settings. This ensures that the dashboard can be called up again via the URL that is defined in Hornet (Shimmer).

I will take the INX settings under advanced settings with the next update so that there is less confusion.

Also für Shimmer würde ich jetzt nicht die gleiche Hardware nutzen, wie für das IOTA Mainnet, sondern etwas schwächere. Ich denke mal es dürfte sich so auf ca. 60€ im Monat nochmal belaufen. Je nach Auslastung müsste aber ggf. weiter skaliert werden.

Hi, es gibt leider derzeit keine öffentliche Shimmer Node von Tangle Bay, da dies die aktuell verfügbaren Geldmittel nicht hergeben, um einen stabilen und langfristigen Betrieb zu ermöglichen. Es würden wie bei der IOTA Mainnet Node einige Server benötigt und ich die Ressourcen damals umgeschichtet habe, da es nichts gebracht hätte die aktuellen Ressourcen aufzuteilen und dann zwei schlechtere APIs bzw. Stabilität zu bieten, anstatt wie jetzt eine gute und mit entsprechender Leistung. Daher habe ich mich damals gegen eine öffentliche Shimmer Node entschieden. Vielleicht wird es in der Zukunft nochmal eine geben, aber bis dato leider nicht.

Nein, aber ich hoffe das wir es in Q1 bekommen.

Sobald das Stardust Upgrade beim IOTA Mainnet aktiviert wird, wird sich die Ordnerstruktur ändern und die alte Datenbank kann nicht mehr genutzt werden. Es soll dann wohl zumindest ein INX-Plugin geben, was es ermöglich die alte DB zu bridgen bzw. dort zu nutzen.

Damit man das vorher entscheiden kann, habe ich entsprechend diese zwei Optionen schon einmal hinzugefügt. Es macht aber vermutlich wenig Sinn die DB zu halten. Daher ggf. nur die participation db, sofern man sie noch braucht, da man ansonsten eigentlich beide Optionen ignoriert werden könnten.
